The Black Cauldron 'The Black Cauldron' was the last of the pre-Michael Eisner Disney animated feature-length movies. Disney had no software developers back then and had seen my very early game, 'Troll's Tale.' The Black Cauldron was the only Sierra game to be developed in three generations of Sierra's game system, As AGI v1 (a booter disk), AGI v2 and AGI v3. Freeware release The Black Cauldron is now available to download from Al Lowe's website. The Black Cauldron is an adventure game designed by Al Lowe of Sierra On-Line and released in 1986. It was made shortly after the first King's Quest game, so it resembled that adventure in many ways. Along with The Dark Crystal it remains one of only a few adventure games by Sierra to be based on films. The player character is a young assistant pig-keeper, Taran, undertaking a quest to stop.

  1. The Cauldron is in possession of three witches of Morva who will trade it for the Sword. Unfortunately a dragon grasps the cauldron and Taran goes back to encounter the evil man himself. The game actually featured plot branches and multiple endings depending on many variables, such as whether Hen Wen the pig was saved, how the cauldron was.
  2. The Black Cauldron is a game based on the 1985 animated Disney film of the same name developed by Disney Interactive and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment for the Bandai Revolution, Bandai CD, and Bandai Chaos. The Bandai Chaos version is more similar to Legend Of Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link, while the Bandai Revolution, and Bandai CD versions is a beat 'em up and platforming.
